My recent installations explore the interface of the analog or physical: found object assemblages and mobiles— and digital dimensions. Video, audio and digital photos are projected on assemblages of suspended objects resulting in a kinetic environment of color, light and shadow. This approach was initially inspired by traditional Asian shadow theater such as Indonesian Wayang Kulit, as well as 18th and 19th century European phantasmagoria theatre. The installations are attempts at creating spectacles of the Anthropocene exploring narratives about climate crisis, extinction of species and symbiotic relationships between mankind and nature. They are immersive, inviting the viewer to enter into them physically while experiencing their imagery on subliminal as well as conscious levels of awareness.
